Pundole’s is a privately owned Mumbai based auction house founded in 2011. Pundole’s is recognised both locally and internationally as one of the leading auction houses specializing in Indian Art. It was started by a group of art professionals who combined their many years of expertise to offer Indian collectors a new local buying platform.
Each of the specialists within the Pundole’s team has studied and worked within the field of Indian art for more than twenty years.
Dadiba Pundole began his career as a gallerist in 1980. He is recognised in the field for his in-depth knowledge on the Indian Modernists including Vasudev S. Gaitonde, Akbar Padamsee, S.H. Raza, Ram Kumar, M.F. Husain and F.N. Souza. Pundole Art Gallery began representing these artists in the 1960s. Dadiba was a consultant at Sotheby’s for their Modern Indian Art sales from 2005 to 2010.
Khorshed Pundole has worked in the field of Modern and Contemporary Indian art for over 25 years working closely with several artists and collectors ever since.
Rob Dean began his career at Christie’s and went on to become the head of the Sotheby’s Indian and Southeast Asian department. His areas of expertise include Modern Indian Art and Indian miniature painting.
Mallika Sagar is a specialist in Modern and Contemporary Indian art and is Pundole’s auctioneer. Mallika began her career at Christie’s and held the first sale of Modern Indian Art in New York in 2000 and was Christie’s first Indian auctioneer.
